Since the opening of the new scenic by-pass road along the coast from Sanur the travelling time to Candidasa in East Bali has been greatly reduced. It takes around 1.5 hours from the airport & 45 minutes from Sanur and Ubud.
Perama, a shuttle bus service operates all over Bali to major tourist towns, there is an office located on the main road in Candidasa next to the police station Public Buses & Bemos operate in the daytime from major centres, however conditions can be hot & crowded and you may need to make a few changes on the way depending where you are travelling to.
Padangbai, the port town that is the pickup/drop off point for the Lombok ferries is just a 20-minute drive away.
